South Korea
Off to South Korea this Thursday for a week. I hear that there's a Krispy Kreme in Seoul, so at least I have my regular diet covered.
Baraat
The Baraat is the Panjabi name for the march when the groom traditionally gets off the horse which has brought him to the wedding; he is accompanied by his 'side': family, and friends, and up the front is the 'dholi' - the guy playing the dhol drum. Making some noise!

Akasaka Tameike Tower: Looking out at you, Akasaka! [a]
View out of my uncle and auntie's place in Akasaka, Tokyo. The building is called the Tameike Tower. It's not far from their old place, which was in the suburb of Hiro-o, an area with many diplomatic missions nearby. Akasaka is also a commercial area. And it's near Roppongi too.

Perth, Swan, Love [crop]
Perth viewed through the Swan River, with Kings Park to the left, and East Perth in the background, foreshadowed by the Narrows Bridge, leading to the unseen South Perth.

City of Perth, not of My Birth; I love thee.
This truely is the easiest city in the world to photograph. Nothing else I've seen is so consistantly photogenic. Maybe its' the fact that this city in Australia is the sunniest in our fair land.
Hidden away like a gem, tucked in the southwestern corner of a huge barren land. It shines. I see it. I see it now, because I have left. And now I regret that. That life has moved on. And that those were the happiest days I can recall.
Perth will always be a spring day, birds singing, air fresh, light breeze, sun lightly warming my face. And bright colours.

The (Magnetic) Levitating Ghost of Shanghai.
Zoom as it does (431 km/hr), it is still the only real mag lev train in the world. It must feel lonely, like a ghost.
Will its fate ultimately be that of the concorde, its ghost to haunt empty tracks or to sit in a vast desert all alone?

Cottesloe Rocks ;)
I've spent many wonderful days at Cott, lazing away by the beach, in the water, sipping a juice at a cafe, or sitting on the grass with mates wiling away time.
I miss it a lot. It was a real reference point for me. Just 10 or so minutes up the Stirling Hwy, practically passing it everyday to work at Freo Hospital.
Cottesloe really rocks.
